Heather VanSlyke - Webmaster

Heather VanSlyke is the new webmaster for the association. Heather has previously served as the certificated vice-president of the association, and as a site representative.

I am happily married to my husband, Elijah (who also works for the district in I.T.). We have two young boys, Huston and Knox. Keeping up with my "three" boys is a full time job, but I love it! If we're not working on a home project, we're venturing out in our camper to make some memories with the boys! The boys are involved in many youth sports, and it is likely you'll find me on a field, in a gym or in a karate studio 'quietly' cheering from the sidelines!

In 2023, the Shasta County Office of Education (SCOE) awarded Heather with the 2023 High School Counselor of the Year award. She was chosen for her advocacy for all students. This includes increasing the number of students completing A-G requirements, financial aid, career technical education, matriculation to Shasta College, and dual enrollment courses.

Heather has other experience prior to serving as the association webmaster. She currently maintains the counseling portion of the Shasta High School website. Prior to that, she was webmaster for the entire Shasta High website until the I.T. department took control of this task districtwide in 2017.
